Research project
SMART FACTORY 2.0
Thanks to the possibility of flexible intralogistics, components can be transported autonomously between machines within production.
Flexible intralogistics through mobile robotics
Machines can be decoupled from production lines and made accessible for different production lines.
Automation scalability
It is possible to start with a single robot and therefore with low initial costs. Additional robots can be integrated or the production environment can be expanded and adapted gradually during operation.
Minimal adaptation of the production environment for autonomous mobile robots is necessary.
Smart factory example
- Machine for quality control of component geometries can be fed with parts from several production lines
- Autonomous transport of injection moulded parts for quality control
- Better utilisation of the machine for quality control and therefore faster amortisation of investment costs
- Component rejects are recognised earlier
- Lower production costs
- Less waste
